In the Shadow of Big Trees
Kristine S. Henningsen
Karl Henrik is visiting his dying mother at the hospital. They have lived together all his life, and yet sorrow is not the only emotion he feels.
Regine has lost her job as a flower decorator and has just been to her first ultrasound scan. The child’s father insists that she must have an abortion, but she is not quite sure what she wants to do.
Karl Henrik makes a living writing dialogues for the popular tv series Skjærgårdsliv, but he never gets a chance to use his good lines in real life.
Regine grew up in a large, boisterous family of intellectuals. She herself is quiet though, and prefers to communicate with her deaf brother.
Karl Henrik and Regine meet by coincidence: two shy people in a hospital elevator. Will they manage to progress from there?
